Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Jidosha KK is one of the biggest automobile companies in the world and is a part of Toyota financial and industrial group. The company was originated in 1935 as a branch of textile machines production plant Toyoda Automatic Loom Works. The head of company Kiichiro Toyoda decided to produce the vehicles by American standards.
In 1936 he produced the first car Model A1 and performed his first export deal supplying the North China with 4 trucks Model G1. In 1937 the automobile department grew into a separate company Toyota Motor Co Ltd. After the World War II the company designed its own vehicles such as Toyota Model SA (1947), Land Cruiser (1950s) and Toyota Crown (first exported to USA in 1957).
In 1959 Toyota production line was put into effect in Brazil and Toyota Motor Sales Australia Co Ltd was originated in Australia. In 1961 Toyota started the mass production of compact Toyota Publica and the next year in Japan it produced its millionth car. Toyota actively develops its dealer’s network starting production in South Africa and Thailand. In 1966 Toyota starts the mass production of Corolla (which is produced till now) and concludes a deal with another Japanese producer Hino uniting with Daihatsu Motor company the next year.
The 70s passed in building new plants and modifying the existing equipment. The Celica, Sprinter and Carina models were put into production in 1970 and in 2 years Toyota produced its 10th million vehicle. In 1978 the first Japanese front driven Tercel was made as well as Mark II model. In the beginning of 80s Toyota starts Camry production and its branches Toyota Motor Co Ltd and Toyota Motor Sales Ltd merged into Toyota Motor Corporation. In 1983 Toyota signs a deal with GM and the next year starts American production at their joint plant. By the end of 80s Toyota produced its 50th million vehicle and originated Lexus – a branch for luxurious cars production.
In 1989 Lexus LS400 and ES250 became available for consumers. In 90s Toyota got dealer’s agreements with Audi and Volkswagen, signed a shares agreement with Hino and Daihatsu, opened its own design center Tokyo Design Center, started production in Britain and opened Toyota Training Center in Moscow starting the mass production of 4-strike direct injection gas engine D-4. In 1997 Toyota designs a hybrid engine Toyota Hybrid System and equips a new Pirus, Coaster and RAV4 with it. That year it announced the production of Raum and the next year – Avensis and cult outlander new edition Land Cruiser 100. In 1998 Toyota finally bought Daihatsu.
In 1999 in Japan the 100th million Toyota car was produced and the next year the Pirus world sales amounted in 50000 cars and Toyota decided to produce RAV4 new edition. In 2001 in USA the 5th million Camry was sold and the next year Toyota entered Formula-1 races. The fashion is the color popularity factor. You can always buy a silver car and sell it in some years to some other conservative guy. But the car of stylish color would be more demanded.
The automobiles have the same trends as gadgets. They started as grey turning into silver and ending with white. The same trend goes with cars as their traditional colors are still popular the new ones are more demanded.
The future market leader is the white color and not a regular one but the light white, the milk white or the pearl white one. The modern white color got 3 layers where the 1st one is white, the 2nd one is shiny and the 3rd one is a lacquer. In North America the white cars are more demanded in past couple years and in some years this fashion will reach us too.
The black colors with shiny effects become more popular as well. The Russians always associated the black color with power and luxury and when the black car is clean it looks just gorgeous. Well, surely if you can handle some hot days when its cabin turns into a stove. Still, even in US black cars are about 25% of all premium-cars and in Russia they may state all 95%.
For now we have the silver-white as a leader. It was the US leader for long 7 years until was replaced by the pearl-white. Some Ford designers insist that car owners in nearest future would also want their vehicles to be gold or beige.
Still, those who design fantastic concept cars say that black, white and grey colors will always be demanded for people usually buy a car for a long time and are afraid of its inability to be sold over having some unusual color. The crisis makes people to choose expensive goods with caution and the number of spontaneous purchases now equals to zero.
Still, we more often see the splashes of bright colors on our roads from red Ferrari and yellow Lamborghini to modern carbon-orange Infinity FX and metallic silver-blue Audi A6.
Again Ford designers insist that in future we might have the splashes of unusual colors such as purple that would look ugly with other cars but would perfectly match their Fiesta…
As a rule, the bright colors are better seen with small cars. For if you paint all big vehicles into bright colors people would just get blind.
5 years ago (2 years ago in Russia) the world markets entered the orange color in all appearances. The splash turned into a mainstream making the most stylish orange tints surviving till now.
