You need to make sure that the service provider is a member of a certain industry association and is well accredited by it. An authentic provider should be a member of at least 1 investigation association.

With the advancement of technology owning a website is a prerequisite for any business. I can not even begin to explain the importance of why it is an absolute must for a PI firm to have one. It is an added advantage if the website has some testimonials, a forum where a community of users share their experiences and a database that is used to trace people.
