how do i video conference someone on ichat with windows?
First off i have a windows computer and my friend is moving away from town. The only way to communicate is through ichat through video conferfence, since she has a macbook. I heard aim is the same as ichat but can you do video conferencing on windows with aim on ichat? i heard you cant have ichat but use aim instead. Confusing but can someone answer? top marks for the best answer.

Is Video/Voice conferencing between Windows & Mac possible?
AIM will allow you to chat, but video and voice features are blocked for the mac user. Yahoo will allow video for the mac user, but the voice conference feature isn’t available. Does anyone have suggestions?

Skype is a great program that is available for free for both Mac OS and Windows. It has a variety of features and the basic voice chat and video chat features are free of charge. Unfortunately, it does not permit simultaneous voice and video conferencing (as far as I know). Simply google skype and you should be able to find it easily. Skype can also be used to call phones but that costs money. You do have to sign up to use Skype but its free and they don’t spam you.

Still trying to Video Conference from windows OS with person using apple I-Chat . Earlier suggestions were to use AIM . But I’m still a bit confused as to how it works with another user . does the Mac user need to download this as well ? Any suggestions ?

AIM is a part of AOL (America Online). AIM is a messaging client that allows users to communicate to one another. In order for this to work, each person has to have a screen name, at which they log in along with a password. There are a variety of programs out there that allow you to use your AIM screen name to log in. So, the PC user will most likely download AIM’s program, and the Mac user will most likely use iChat, although he can download AIM or a variety of different messengers.

How is VBScript used in networking? Related to windows networking and also in video networking?
Wondering what part VBscript can play in windows networking and also networking for video conferencing? Any help is appreciated.

In my organisation we use VB script for our login script. When a user logs onto the network a login script runs in the background that does useful things like map their network drives, connect up their printers, etc. As some of our laptop users move around different locations this is esspecially useful. It means that when they logon to the network we can use the VB script to identify their IP address which will then be able to work out their location and map the printers that are in that location.
There are lots of very useful things that VB script can do. For most applications a script can be written to solve an administrative problem and provide a quick efficient way to perform a task without having to do it manually.
