Know Your Traffic – Using Google Analytics
If you have recently made a blog or eCommerce website, you’re probably feeling a small exhausted from making all of that original content, intentionally placing well loved search keywords in your text, exchanging links with other well loved sites, and trying to market your products the best you can. Did you ever stop and wonder whether all of that effort was really paying off in the form of traffic really coming to your website?
So what is the other half?
It is the ‘number one thing’ I mentioned in the title of this article. It’s excellent quality written content.
Not just so an earth shattering revelation is it? That’s because it isn’t predestined to be. There is a lot to be said for writing excellent content to add to your website. But because it is a simple process to yield it and place it up on your site, a lot of people completely overlook its importance.
All that it takes to start using Google Analytics is the ability to embed a small JavaScript code into the html code of your website’s template. This code will allow the analytics tool to track the incoming traffic to your website, as well as any clicks that are made during the stay to the site, and the keywords that help people find specific pages on your site. Once the JavaScript is successfully embedded in your site, it will take the Google bots about one full day to locate and start analyzing your site’s traffic history.
Once you’ve started using Google Analytics, you will have door to a whole wide variety of information about your site that you were only guessing about before. Plotting you knew what your most well loved articles or searches were before? The reports from Google Analytics force tell you something quite different. Did you reckon that search engines were the most well loved way for people to find your site? Reading through your analytics report force really show that referring sites like Twitter or a blog directory are really the way that most people are finding you. Knowing this information will help you choose where to focus your time on developing your site
