I am having a heck of a time getting my website listed on yahoo! and google. What am I doing wrong?

I have a great domain name that I cant seem to get to index on the search engines. I have signed up for webmaster tools, created a sitemap, a robots.txt file and everything! I have thought maybe my site had once been banned by google, so I went to check on ask to be reconsidered (and yes I verified ownership), but under ‘tools‘ ask to be reconsidered isnt there, so it must note be banned. even when doing an operator seach like site:***.com i get nothing. And yes there are several other sites linking to this. (they may be having the same problem though)
What am I missing here???

If you need to be able to analyze the site to answer it is at

Donna asks…

How Do I Improve My Google Ranking?

I currently own the website numeroten.com and have been trying to do some SEO Optimization. I use iWeb to edit my website and it isn’t really the friendliest web site editor for SEO. I Do have Rage’s iWeb SEO Tool. which I have been using to help. Right now it is taking some time for Google to re index my site 1 to 2 weeks and updates take a while. I do know about adding titles, key words, and meta tags. Can anything else help me?

admin answers:

Linkbacks help with SEO. Get in touch with other sites webmasters and ask them if you post a link on your site to their website if they will do the same for you. Don’t post the links in a intrusive manner, maybe a sectio like, other useful sites, or sites you might like.

Betty asks…

How long google page rank will appear?

1. May i know if i buy 100 pr5 backlinks for my website today, how long google will change my page rank?

2. Also, if i submit my website to one pr7 website and one pr6 website, about 20 links of my site inside this 2 pr7 and pr6 website. Can i get my website page rank improve to pr5++ to pr6? I was according to this chart: http://services-seo.net/pagerank-calculator/index.php?do=1

Is this tool accurate enough?

Many thanks…

admin answers:

1. If you are buying links, be sure that it “falls under the radar” because Google is devaluing (essentially making them ineffective for passing page rank) paid links. So, to directly answer your question. . . Your websites toolbar page rank may never change or eventually go down, especially if you are buying links.

The “toolbar” page rank is different from Google’s internal page rank.

2. Maybe for a rough gauge as to how many links make up a PR 7 website you should find some & do some research on their incoming links; I’ve never had a PR 6 website & I’ve never worked to increase my page rank. Personally, I would think that only a science/math major would be able to easily work with the equation listed, and there is no guarantee that this equation is what Google uses at this day in time to calculate their internal or toolbar page rank. If you could grab the current formula that Google uses to asses page rank, then possibly you could have a better idea whether or not this was accurate.

Helen asks…

What should I do after I redirect from an old domain name to a new domain name?

About 2 weeks ago, I changed the domain name of my website to a new domain name using the redirect 301 feature in my hosting service (HostMonster), figuring the new domain had more broader appeal as far as SEO purposes (included “losangeles” instead of smaller city “montebello”). I am still keeping my old domain as I have been told that linking domains (through redirect 301) to your main domain helps the SEO.

Now my question is “should I keep the content intact in the old domain or should I empty the files?”. Already Google Webmaster Tools is detecting errors in the old domain, mostly “url not found” and “redirect error” when it crawls the old domain (although the old domain automatically redirects entirely to the new domain). Is this normal and should I leave the old domain as is or should I empty contents??

My new domain is progressing OK as far as Google Webmaster Tools is concerned, although not as fast as the old domain when I first hosted it (only a couple of weeks prior to hosting the second and now my actual domain to my website).

Please give me your insight.

admin answers:

When you redirect your pages via 301 redirect method, Google crawler must not show any errors. Is is showing errors means something is wrong with your redirection.

Google crawler is not finding some urls, signify that at least some pages are not being redirected correctly. In this way you can actually find out which urls are broken. OR you can use a free tool which helps you find broken links while 301 redirection is applied. Means something is wrong with your redirection.

Yes, you can delete files on older domain to increase available web space. But since you are using unlimited webspace you must not be worried about webspace. Moreover you must check traffic ( in file size ) for older files. It must be very close to zero. If it is not something is wrong with your redirection.

Indispensable Points On How To Get People To Do What You Want Them To Do On Your Website

    social bookmarking service

Website marketing ought to focus a great deal on our unconscious mind-set and use specific, proven processes to prompt us to do something without a great deal of thought. As human beings we often act intuitively and without thinking and if, as internet marketers, we are able to get our potential customers to achieve this by just presenting them visual stimuli efficiently, we can increase our conversions significantly. Everybody knows that we must set ourselves apart when it comes to search engine marketing tactics, if we’re to create a web presence that doesn’t just satisfy the various search engines and their ever more strict set of criteria, but additionally makes our website visitor take some action. We realise that well-written sales content could have a remarkable effect on boosting conversion rates, but at times fairly simple graphics, when designed in such a way, can be just as important.

If you have ever seen some mischievous individuals standing in the midst of a crowded town square somewhere, staring intently up to the roof of an adjoining building, it is fascinating to see the response of others. In a short time a small group will gather, as individuals are curious about exactly what these mischievous men are actually looking at. Needless to say, they aren’t looking at anything in particular, they’re merely having a little bit of fun, but it just demonstrates that people are all fascinated with whatever others have an interest in. The same occurs when there’s a regrettable accident on the motorway. All of us want to look over to see what’s happening.

If you put a graphic of a smiling person looking at the wording that you would like your prospects to check out, as a call to action, you would be surprised by exactly what might happen. If you would like someone to type in their contact details, why not display a graphic of a male or female typing into their computer while looking in the direction of the form that you would like to be completed? Straightforward perhaps, but as SEO UK specialists will tell you, at times the simplest things create the greatest results.
