Have I set up the 301 redirect to direct my site to a www for SEO purposes?
I have a site called http://www.sex-directory-australia.com/ In the control panel I setup a redirect for the index page only. In google webmaster tools I directed the site to the www. rather than non www however some links still goto the non www site. Is this a problem or have I done something wrong

Hmm, this can affect your websites alot – Even though to the human eye the page is the same but for the search engine robots these are 2 different pages together – you can risk getting penalized for duplicate contents. This will also spread your pages authority or page rank between the 2 pages.
I would recommend you try and resolve the issue from your webmasters account and if you can not do it from there then you may want to try and redirect it from your htaccess files.
Hope this helps

Susan asks…
SEO- I am using keyword discovery, Google Keyword, and webtracker with VERY different results. Get me clear?
Hello. Thank you for viewing this.
Im using the above mentioned keyword tools. Im writing an article about handheld book scanners. so that is my keyword phrase. Google says about 1600 searches were carried out for that keyword phrase in just 1 MONTH. But webtracker and keyword discovery returns only 15 searches in a 12 month span! This seems very unlikely. They also say that only 568 searches were done for the keyword phrase “grooming your pet” in a years time. Again very unlikely. Didnt search google keyword for it but it will return MUCH higher results.
Are they doing the same job which it doesnt seem likely. I would like to know how many searches were done for Handheld Book Scanner. Which is correct? Why are they so different.
Anyone help would be much appreciated.

The reason that you get the different result from the different tools is that all the tools are provide the detail or the result from the data available with them or in their databases. Whenever you make the search in any search engine it will match the your words with their database and then gives you the maximum result on that words.
All search engine has the various amount of the data as they collect the information on the internet with their own rules and regulations.
The google has the maximum data in its database in the internet world as it collects more data from any other engine
from 100% the 80% of search has been made on to the google search engine and the remaining 20% has been divide between other engines. So you will get the more and maximum result for your search then other search engines.
As the google is used more than any other the result or the data provided by it will be perfect then any other engines. You can be reliable on the result of the google that’s the sure.

Sandra asks…
Overture gives keyword traffic data for Yahoo. Does anyone know of a free tool for Google that does the same?
The facts are in from unbiased, 3rd party research groups and the majority of searches on the web are done via Google. I have had great success with search engine traffic due to free information from Overture’s Keyword Search Tool. Of course there are many searches done on Google that are also done on Yahoo. For instance: If “widget” had 1,738 searches through Yahoo; Google on the other hand might have had 8,867 searches for “widget”. In this case, “widget” goes from being of medium importance to maybe being the central focus of SEO for my site.
All internet entrepreneurs, like my self, that practice effective SEO, could really, seriously use a tool like Overture for Google. If anyone knows of a free tool like this PLEASE let me know.
The problem I have with alot of the software out there is that it simply pulls keywords from related site’s meta tags. I mean c’mon I can do that myself!

Hi 677,
It is good that you are using the All In One SEO plug-in, and using Google Webmaster Tools. This helps Google decide how to index your site. It could still take a few days for a new site to show up in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS) though.
Google can be fickle sometimes. It is not uncommon to have your website show on the first page of Google one day, and then on page “103″ of the results the next. This is known as the “Google Dance”.
In order to see what links Google has in it’s index for your site, try this trick:
In the Google search box, enter site:yoursiteurl. So if your site was googleshoes.com, you would enter
site:googleshoes.com.
This will show every URL that Google has in it’s index for googleshoes.com.
You can add a keyword search here too. So for example, you could enter the following:
red shoes site:googleshoes.com, and this will show what links Google has for the googleshoes.com site using the keywords “red shoes”.
Lastly, if after doing this Google returns no information at all, it could mean that Google has not had enough time to index your site, or your site is “de-indexed” for some reason. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this except to create valuable content and making sure your site has good SEO.
Good luck.

George asks…
Is it necessary to index categories and tags for better SEO rankings?
I have recently been working on a blog – worldtenz.net – however, according to webmasters tools, google seemed to have indexed all my categories and tags as separated pages, therefore duplicating the content. Because of that, I then blocked google from indexing tags and categories but now webmasters tools is showing over 90 crawl errors including http (400) errors, 404 not found errors and not followed errors. I want to know, is it really important to index tags and categories; does it help improve or dis-improve seo rankings?

admin answers:
Yes, these are very important as per the part of onsite work, they play a significance role in bringing quality traffic on client’s sites. If we optimize the Meta tag and description according to SEO then it surely will give results in half of time.
